Vivo X200 Pro Review | Excellent choice for photo lovers and content creators
But is the Vivo X200 Pro the all-rounder flagship it claims to be, and can it challenge the other flagships in its price segment? Let’s dive into the details.
The Vivo X200 Pro looks and feels every bit like a premium flagship. The device features a sturdy aluminium frame with a sleek matte-finish glass back, which resists fingerprints and adds to its elegant appeal. It is available in two colour options: Titanium Gray and Cosmos Black, both of which exude class and subtlety.
The back panel houses the massive circular camera module, a signature design element that immediately signals the phone’s photography prowess. While visually striking, the module adds noticeable top-heaviness, which can feel awkward during prolonged use, particularly while gaming or streaming.
On the durability front, Vivo has gone a step further with Armor Glass protection on the display and an impressive IP69 certification, offering resistance to high-pressure water jets—a step beyond the IP68 rating seen on competitors. For buttons and ports, the layout is standard: the power button and volume rockers sit on the right, while the USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and SIM tray are located at the bottom.
Despite its 208 grams weight, the phone’s rounded edges and slim profile make it surprisingly comfortable to hold. Vivo’s design refinements ensure it feels solid and premium in hand while staying aligned with current flagship trends.
The Vivo X200 Pro sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1260 x 2800) and an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate. The display dynamically adjusts between 1 Hz and 120 Hz, ensuring smooth visuals while optimising power efficiency. With HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, the display delivers vivid colours, deep blacks, and excellent contrast, making content consumption a pleasure. Whether you’re streaming HDR content on Netflix or watching videos on YouTube, the visuals are crisp and immersive. The display’s peak brightness of 4,500 nits ensures top-notch outdoor visibility, even in harsh sunlight.
The Vivo X200 Pro runs on Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15. The software has seen notable refinements, including smoother animations, a cleaner interface, and better stability. However, pre-installed bloatware still lingers, though most unwanted apps can be uninstalled.
The phone features tools like AI Erase, AI Photo Enhancer, and AI Note Assist for organising notes to add real value to the user experience. Vivo has also included Live Call Translation, which translates conversations in real time—ideal for multilingual users. The Gemini Assistant integrates with Google apps to streamline tasks, and features like Circle to Search enhance productivity by making on-screen searches seamless. All that’s needed is a separate Vivo account sign in.
Combined with 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage, the phone handles multitasking, media consumption, and heavy workloads effortlessly. In daily use, the device performs exceptionally well—apps open quickly, animations are fluid, and multitasking feels seamless. In terms of gaming performance we will say the phone does well but not on par with its competitors like GT 7 Pro or iQOO 13. While it isn’t a gaming beast, casual gamers will find it more than capable.
The camera is the star and the main focus of the Vivo X200 Pro. We’d rather call it a camera-phone than a phone with a camera. The phone features a robust triple-camera system - a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS, 50 MP primary ZEISS True colour sensor (f/1.57) and a 50 MP ultra-wide lens (119° field of view).

The 200 MP periscope telephoto lens is undoubtedly the showstopper. It supports up to 100x digital zoom and excels at capturing detailed shots, whether it’s distant landscapes or intricate subjects.

Portrait shots at 2x or 5x zoom are particularly impressive, with precise edge detection and natural background blur (bokeh). Zoomed images retain excellent clarity, dynamic range, and balanced colours—a rarity even among flagships.

The 50 MP primary sensor also delivers exceptional results, particularly in daylight. Photos are sharp, well-detailed, and boast excellent dynamic range. Vivo’s V3+ imaging chip ensures true-to-life colours and accurate white balance, keeping hues natural without oversaturation. Skin tones look particularly lifelike, and the sensor does an admirable job in tricky lighting conditions.

Low-light performance is equally noteworthy. With Night Mode enabled, the primary sensor captures vibrant and detailed shots, preserving shadows and highlights beautifully. Images exhibit minimal noise, and the colour reproduction remains consistent even in dim environments. The ultra-wide lens complements the main sensor well, capturing expansive landscapes with good detail and minimal distortion, even though low-light performance is slightly less refined compared to the primary sensor.

The 32 MP front camera delivers crisp, natural-looking selfies with excellent dynamic range in daylight. Portrait selfies are sharp, with smooth background blur and accurate skin tones. Low-light selfies are usable, with Vivo’s software doing a good job of reducing noise and enhancing exposure without softening facial details too much.
On the video front, the Vivo X200 Pro supports up to 8K recording, along with tools like 4K at 120 FPS and LOG video format for professional content creators. Video stabilization is solid, and footage retains sharpness and accurate colours across different lighting conditions. Overall, Vivo has nailed the camera system, making the X200 Pro a standout option for mobile photography enthusiasts.
The Vivo X200 Pro packs a massive 6,000 mAh battery, one of the largest in its class. During testing, the phone delivered one day usage easily even after extended usage. Charging is equally impressive, with 90 W wired charging refuelling the battery in about 45 minutes. Additionally, the phone supports 30 W wireless charging, offering the convenience of cable-free top-ups.
The Vivo X200 Pro is a photography-first flagship that excels in camera performance, battery life, and design. The 200 MP periscope telephoto lens and versatile camera system make it an excellent choice for photo lovers and content creators. However, In the Indian market, where established brands like Samsung and Apple dominate the flagship space, Vivo will need to convince buyers beyond photography enthusiasts. If cameras and battery life are your top priorities, the Vivo X200 Pro is a fantastic option. It will cost you ₹94,999, and comes in a single variant of 16 GB/512 GB.
