Threads allows users to reshare photos, videos with credit without quote posting
Threads is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to re-share photos and videos without including the original post. Users will be able to add their own text with the reshared media while giving credit to the creator, the platform announced.
While sharing the update in a post on Threads, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said that it was an “easy way to add your creative takes to trending images and clips without quote posting.”
Users can just long-press on a media or click on the repost button and select ‘Use Media.’ Then, they can add their own text and share the post.
The feature will also reduce user complaints about reposting content without giving credit. The original creator will get a notification when their posts are reshared and can even turn resharing off from their settings.
Threads has recently introduced a host of new features like additional filters for date ranges and profiles and a status indicator to show when a user is online.
